Seward looks like the second best team in the Jayhawk West after sweeping a softball double header 6-1 and 6-3 Wednesday at Lady Saints Field. But perhaps more importantly, Seward protected their home turf and swept an arch rival in their last home games of the season.

In game one, Jill Dickson didn’t allow a run until the seventh and struck out five Garden City hitters while allowing just three hits. The Lady Saints banged out 10 hits led by Bianca Adame, Bre Diaz, Stephanie Mark, and Erin Scott who had two hits a piece. Adame had two RBI’s. Seward scored two in the first, one in the third, and three in the sixth.

After sophomores were recognized in between games, Seward came out charged up in game two scoring two in the first and four in the second. Stephanie Mark blasted a home run. She finished 2-3 with four RBI’s. Blaire Taylor allowed six Broncbuster hits in the win.

Seward is 34-17 overall and 8-4 in the Jayhawk West as the Busters fall to 30-15 overall and 6-6 in the Jayhawk West. Seward plays at Barton Friday in Great Bend.
