The Ulysses Tigers won the Liberal Invitational Thursday at Willow Tree. The Tigers carded a 323 while Guymon finished second with a 336. Meade took third with a 337 ahead of Liberal who opens the season with a 344. The Garden City JV scored 367 while Hugoton had a 378.

Guymon’s Mathew LaGrange won the tournament with a one under par 71. Brady Buxman of Ulysses was second with a 78. Meade’s Adrian Pfanenstiel was third with a 78. Buffalo teammate Austin Jansonius was fourth with a 78. Jacob Mendoza of Ulysses took fifth with a 78. Hugoton’s Lawson Fiss was sixth with an 80. Liberal’s Lucas Poulton led the Redskins with an 80 for seventh. He was Liberal’s only medalist.

Liberal Blake Stout added an 85 while Daniel Dowell carded an 87 and Michael Begley shot a 92.

Liberal head coach Kody Thexton says his teams’ effort was good despite a fourth place finish in their home tournament.
