Saints Grab Tigers by the Tail

Head coach Bryan Zollinger’s eyes filled with tears after the game. His Saints won another Region 6 championship for the school he once played for and takes pride representing. The Saints stymied the Cowley Tigers holding them to 40 percent shooting and forcing 22 turnovers. Seward led the points off turnovers category 23-13.

Kaheem Ransom scored 25 and grabbed 12 rebounds. Deverell Biggs added 20 and was named the Region 6 Tournament MVP. Brice Jenkins and Daveon Boardingham were also named all tournament.

The Saints led 27-23 at halftime. Seward led by as many as 17 56-39 and 57-40 in the second half.

Seward has now won five Region 6 titles in 1985, 1995, 1998, 2008, and 2012. Seward faces Wallace State, Alabama (19-15) Tuesday night at 8:30 in Hutchinson on B107.5. Seward is 28-6 and Cowley finished 24-10.
