The good news is the Saints got on the field and played five games against good Texas competition. The bad news is they lost three of five games in the Lone Star State. After a close 2-1 loss to Odessa in Midland Friday, the Saints swept Odessa in Odessa Saturday. The Saints won the first game 5-3 Keegan Hucul and Johnny Grifith pitched the Saints to the win. The Saints took game two Saturday 2-0 over the Wranglers. T.J. Looney shut down Odessa for the win and Grifith picked up his second save.

After a sweet Saturday in Odessa, Sunday was a manic day in Midland. Midland won game one 6-5 in walk off fashion. Seward’s defense let down in a 5-2 loss in game two.

The Saints are 4-3 and host Lamar Tuesday. They will resume a game tied 2-2 in the eighth at 1 p.m. with a nine inning game to follow.
