Slow Second Half Sinks Lady Redskins Again

Liberal again led Great Bend at halftime and again were a double digit loser to the Lady Panthers. February 3, LHS led 13-11 at halftime before a 39-19 loss. Saturday night at Great Bend, the Lady Skins led 8-0 and 10-3 early before taking a 19-18 lead at into the lockeroom at halftime. But Great Bend (3-16, 2-5) would lead by as many at 18 in a 52-41 win over LHS.
Liberal missed many shots in close while Great Bend caught fire in the third quarter. LHS had 17 turnovers while Great Bend had 11.
The loss moves the Lady Redskins (3-15, 0-6) further into the WAC basement and allows GBHS to break a possible tie breaker in the sub state standings if the two teams tie for sixth. Liberal finishes the season as a heavy underdog at home against Garden City Tuesday and at Dodge City Friday. The Lady Panthers host WAC champ Hays Friday.
Jai Chapman scored 15 for LHS while Kelsey Crosby scored 15 for Great Bend.
