It was a sweet Valentine’s Day for the Seward softball team as they opened their season

Tuesday at Lady Saints Field.

The Lady Saints won both games against Jayhawk East member Pratt 4-2 and 3-1 thanks to a
big day in the middle of the lineup for Stephanie Mark and Taylor
McDougall. Mark went 4 for 7 on the day with 2 doubles while McDougall
drove in 4 of Seward’s 7 runs on the day and also had 2 doubles. Jill
Dickson earned the win in game one for the Lady Saints while Blaire
Taylor allowed just 3 hits in a complete game win in game two.

Former Saint and Sublette native Becky Holland is Pratt’s head coach.

The Lady Saints are off until this weekend when they will go to Poteau,
Oklahoma to play in the Carl Albert Tournament. Seward will take on the
host team right off the bat at 11:00 on Saturday to get things going.
