They hope this is the worst of it. In easily the biggest upset of the Jayhawk Conference season, Barton came into the Green House and stunned sixth ranked Seward 62-57 Saturday night. It’s Barton’s first win at Seward since 2007.

Seward jumped out to a 9-0 lead and a 19-8 lead but then struggled offensively the rest of the night. Seward shot under 29 percent from the field. Seward played well for the most part on defense forcing 29 turnovers and taking 18 more shots than Barton. Seward led 23-20 at halftime.

Seward loses their second straight at home for a second consecutive season. The Lady Saints got 11 points from Mariah Lee and 10 from Kayla Thomas.

Barton’s Blair Bloomfield had 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Seward is 18-4 overall and 7-2 in the Jayhawk West while Barton is 14-9 overall and 4-5 in the Jayhawk West.
