Erik Minjarez is Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week

Liberal High School senior cross country runner Erik Minjarez is the Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week. Minjarez placed fourth at the WAC meet last week in Dodge City. His best time this season was a 17:03 in Hays. The #4 Redskins are the favorite going to regionals Saturday at Newton. The Redskins compete against Newton, Salina Central. Salina South, Valley Center, Andover, Great Bend, and Hays. Minjarez was a guest during the Thursday Sportsguys. His brother Jaime was a standout on last year’s team who won the WAC and finished third at state.
