Sumner Leads Liberal at Ulysses

Evan Sumner led the Liberal golf team at Ulysses. Evan shot a 96 for a 7th place finish. It’s Sumner’s lowest score this season. She pared 6 out of the 9 holes on the back so that is very solid for any golfer. Liberal head coach Kody Thexton says Sumner is stepping up. "I am very pleased with the outcome, the winning score was 80 shot by a Ulysses player."

Jamie Brond shot a 106 to finish 15th. Thexton says Brond is also playing better golf. "Both girls played well so it is looking better for us now. We are still waiting for the others to catch up to Evan and Jamie."

The Redskins go to Lakin on Saturday.
