As we finally start to close the book on another banner year for Seward County athletics, the department that saw 6 of its 7 teams play for the Region VI Championship or advance to the NJCAA National Tournament, has proven once again that not only do their student-athletes get it done under the bright lights, but also in the SCCC/ATS academic buildings where five different teams have been listed in the recently released NJCAA All-Academic Teams.

Topping the charts for the third straight year was Head Coach Darin Workman's Saints Tennis Team who brings the NJCAA National Academic Championship to Liberal yet again with a 3.60 team GPA, .13 points higher than their next closest competitor.

Finishing as the runners-up for the National Title, is Head Coach Toby Wynn's Lady Saints Basketball Team after his squad posted a 3.45 team mark, behind only Western Wyoming who checked in with a 3.58 GPA.

The Seward Women's Tennis Team comes in 6th in the National Rankings after a year in which they posted a 3.44 team GPA, just .20 points away from contending for the crown.

Head Coach Bert Luallen’s Lady Saints Volleyball Team once again proved that they are not only one of the top teams on the court in the fall, but known for their academic results as they put together a 3.42 Team GPA which ranked them 12th on the list.

Despite 52 games in under 3 months, the Seward Softball Team also found a way to hit the books this season as Head Coach Andrea Gustafson Lady Saints posted a 3.16 team GPA to earn their way onto the list.
