Bergeron Breaks Out in BJ Win

Blake Bergeron was a driving force for the NBC champion BJ’s last year. The slugging first baseman hit .355 with 11 homers, nine doubles, three triples, and 52 RBI’s. His homers and RBI’s by far led the BJ’s.
The Nicholls State first baseman broke out Thursday night going 3-5 with a double and three RBI’s in Liberal’s 10-2 win over the West Texas Outlaws at Brent Gould Field. The BJ big inning was a five run seventh inning.
Midland’s Tyler Rockafellow is 2-0 after going seven strong innings for the win. The Dallas Baptist signee struck out six, walked one, and allowed six hits and one run in the win.
Yavapai’s Dean Friedberg went 3-4 with two RBI’s in the win. Texas-San Antonio’s Riley Good was 3-4 with two runs. Northwood’s Eddie Arroyo was 2-5 with two RBI’s, a double, and two runs.
The Bee Jays are 7-1 and return to Jayhawk League play Friday night to begin a three game series against the Derby Twins at Brent Gould Field. Golden Plains Credit Union is Friday night’s buyout sponsor. The games Friday, Saturday, and Sunday air on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. all season.
