The Liberal Bee Jays come ready to hit in the first. They scored seven in the first during a 22-6 win over Pueblo and five in the first of a 16-5 win over Aurora. But Sunday night at Brent Gould Field, there wasn’t even room on the scoreboard for their out put against the Denver Lynx. The Jays scored 11 in the first in their 19-4 win in seven run rule shortened innings. The Bee Jays are 5-0 and averaging nearly 15 runs a game.

Texas Tech’s Kelby Tomlinson showed why he should be selected high in Monday’s MLB Draft. The former Saint and returning BJ from last year’s championship team was 4-5 with a home run and two doubles. His middle infield teammate Eddie Arroyo of Northwood was 3-4. San Diego’s Reyn Nagamine, Angelo State’s Toby Semler, and Midland’s Reagan Pearson had two hits a piece.

Nicholls State lefty Patrick Shreve pitched six strong innings for the win. He allowed two in the first. Texas-Arlington’s Kasey Merck pitched the seventh.

The same two teams hook up Monday night at 7 p.m. at Brent Gould Field. Windtree Management is the buyout sponsor.
