Former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline’s law license has changed from active to inactive status.

Kline, who became Johnson County district attorney after failing to win re-election as attorney general in 2006, registered for inactive status in July. Inactive status does not require continuing education.

Sally Brown, of the Kansas Judicial Center, says Kline is in good standing and could move back to active status in the future.

Kline currently is teaching at Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, Va.
