McPhail Wins Rocky Welton Title

Liberal junior Justin McPhail added to his trophy case this weekend. The 215 pound junior won the championship in his weight division at Garden City’s Rocky Welton Invitational this weekend. McPhail beat his Rio Rancho opponent 5-3 Saturday after two takedowns and one escape. Liberal finished 21st as a team as Adebayou Braimah and Cody Smith both won several matches in consolation. Liberal hosts Lamar for a dual tomorrow and goes to Great Bend Thursday.
