Seward County got the new year off on a winning note stunning #9 MSU-West Plains MO 90-78 in Chanute Saturday night. Seward improves to 11-2 and plays Neosho County in Chanute at 4 o’clock on Sunday. Seward led by as many as 22 with 13 minutes to go in the game. The Grizzlies rallied cutting Seward’s lead to six, but the Saints held on. Jeremy Jones scored 22 while Rafriel Guthrie dropped in 18. Marky Nolen scored 11 and Daveon Boardingham added 10. The Saints shot 54 percent from the field and were 9-18 from three point range.
