Saints Overcome Cowley Hangover
KSCB News - November 29, 2010 12:00 am
After an 80-74 loss to Cowley Saturday night, it took the Saints a while to get in gear Saturday night against the New Creations Academy (6-11) from Richmond, Indiana. The Saints (6-2) led by just single digits for most of the first half and led 42-30 at halftime. But Seward blew it open in the second half. Seward head coach Bryan Zollinger says there was a hangover effect. "We talked to them at halftime," Zollinger said. "I think they were a little down about losing last night. But you have to come out and play with energy and enthusiasm every time you play."
Rafriel Guthrie led six Saints who scored in double figures with 13 points. Jeremy Jones, Tyler Brashears, and Daveon Boardingham added 11 a piece. Irvin Hollinger and Marky Nolen scored 10 a piece.
The Saints host the Conestoga Classic Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m. Seward faces Raleigh’s Finest Prep School Friday and the Odessa Wranglers Saturday. Saturday’s game will air on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.
