College Shares Sadness with Head, Boles Families

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School, its board of trustees and President, Dr. Ken Trzaska, expresses regret at the loss of two longtime friends of the College this week.

James Head, whose wife, Jane, is the longest-serving member of the SCCC/ATS Foundation, contributed to Liberal community initiatives over several decades. In volunteer work that reflected his commitment to education, Head served on the Liberal Area Vo-Tech Foundation Board and as chairman of the Seward County Community College Development Drive.

E. Paul Boles II, chairman of the first SCCC Board of Trustees, brought the tenacity and optimism he developed as a farmer and rancher in Stevens County, to the work of helping create a college for the community �?? one of many projects Boles helped envision and realize. With his wife, Patsy, he provided a warm and steady presence at college and community events after both retired from their many venues of board service.

�??It takes people of vision and generosity to make a community great, and it�??s clear to me that we�??ve lost true friends in that respect,�?� said Trzaska. �??As a college family, we send our regrets to the families of these two men. We wish them courage and strength.�?�
