Severe Weather Training To Be Offered

KSCB News - March 12, 2014 3:58 pm

Seward County Emergency Management in cooperation with the National Weather Service will be presenting our annual spotter training on Tuesday March the 18th 2014 at 7 PM. The meeting will be held at the Seward County Activity Center and everyone is welcome to attend, there is no cost to participants.

The purpose of the seminar is to raise awareness, and provide training to help citizens identify severe weather, as it is developing and occurring. The program is always interesting, so plan to attend.

Seward County Emergency Management relies on trained spotters and citizens to provide critical information during severe storms. Spotters provide information that is unavailable from any other source. The information provided by spotters and the NWS helps us to provide the proper warnings in a timely manner to protect lives in our community.

This training is a good way to get involved in our program, or just learn about severe weather so come on out and enjoy the presentation.
