The Liberal City Commission met last night in a special meeting at 5:30 at the city commission chambers. The lone item on the agenda were the Lyddon Airport Leases. Bill and Steve Lyddon were in attendance at this meeting. After much discussion, both parties reached an agreement that was acceptable for everyone involved. The Lyddons have received a ten year lease agreement with an option for another ten years. Both parties must agree on the second ten years. All leases currently held by the Lyddons, including the T-Hangars, will see a 10% increase in their lease price effective July 1st, with a 3% annual increase for the first ten years. After the first ten years, the City and Lyddons will renegotiate the lease price with an increase not to exceed 5%. The city will not be charging Lyddons any fuel flowage fee. The Lyddons have been operating out of Liberals airport for 19 years after buying out Art Downs.
