The USD 480 board met Monday night and adopted a pilot reading program for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The Kansas Reading Initiative computer program will be instilled to help kids who need extra help with their reading. If a teacher sees that a student needs extra help, the teacher and the Lexia 5 program will be used to help students get up to par with their reading. The state of Kansas pays for the program which will be utilized for the next five years.
