The Colvin Adult Learning Center at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School will begin its next enrollment for those individuals interested in taking the test to receive their Kansas State High School Diploma or GED.
Students will fill out paper work and take the appraisal test at either 8:30 or 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 7. Students will take the diagnostic reading and math tests at either 8:30 or 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8. Students will receive their results Oct. 9-10. The class runs Oct. 14-Dec. 19.
Students will need $50 and state-issued identification. If they are under 18, they must have their legal parent or guardian present.

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School will hold its Gas Capital Rectifier School, at 8 a.m., Oct. 22-24 in the Student Activities Center, SW229 C-D, 1801 N. Kansas in Liberal.
The $300 registration fee gives individuals the opportunity to learn about rectifiers, OHMS law, basic cathodic protection potentials, design and operation, wiring diagrams and schematics, ground and safety issues and much more. Participants are asked to bring their multimeter or the hands-on session.
The instructor, R.M. Speck, is a long-standing member of the rectifier business for more than 54 years. His company, Universal Rectifiers, is recognized as the largest producer of cathodic rectifiers in the United States.
