Memorial Day Services Planned at Local Cemeteries

The Liberal American Legion and Legion Auxillary are once again planning Memorial Day Services at The Liberal Cemetery and Restlawn Memorial Gardens north of Liberal. Service at the Liberal Cemetery will start at 11:00am, just inside the west gate of the cemetery at the World War I Memorial. The ceremony will include the posting of the colors, National Anthem, poems, readings, songs, speeches, and the Echo, honoring all those missing in action from Kansas, with Taps also being played. A duplicate ceremony will take place at Restlawm Memorial Gardens at 2:00pm. These services are to honor the soldiers who have passed on, either while serving, or later in life, and are open to the public
