Wal-Mart, Salvation Army and the Seward County United Way teamed up for a “Fill the Truck” event on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Liberal Wal-Mart. The drive netted almost $1,700 in toys and coats for the local community. The coats, hats and gloves were given to Early Riser Kiwanis to be distributed in the Liberal school system and the toys will be given to the Liberal Toys for Tots drive conducted by the Knights of Columbus. This was part of a nation-wide event and the first time the drive had been held in Liberal.
