SCCC/ATS Dr. Campbell Elected Region VI Director

At the 2012 annual meeting of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS), Dr. Suzanne Campbell was elected as the Region VI Director and will serve a three year term. Campbell is a Medical Laboratory Technician instructor/coordinator at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School.
Delegates from across the US vote for candidates for elected positions within the organization. She will represent Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois on the national board of directors.
Campbell has been an active member of ASCLS since 1996, serving in a variety of roles at the state, regional and national level. Previous positions include two terms as the Kansas Society for Clinical Laboratory Science president, a three year term as the leadership development representative for Region VI as well as serving two years on the ASCLS nominations committee. She routinely presents at the state and national level on topics of leadership and qualitative research. She also serves as the continuing education editor for Clinical Laboratory Science, a peer-reviewed journal sponsored by ASCLS. As recognition of her dedication to the medical laboratory science profession and her involvement with the organization, Campbell received the Omicron Sigma award at the national level for a second year. This award is considered the ASCLS president�??s honor roll.
Campbell has served as MLT program coordinator since 1992. In October of 2011, she also assumed the role as the STEM project director.
Campbell earned her bachelor of science degree in medical technology from Wichita State University, a masters of science degree in educational administration from Fort Hays State University and a doctorate of philosophy degree from the University of Nebraska �?? Lincoln with a focus on higher education leadership.
