KDOT seeks input on US-54 expansion
The Kansas Department of Transportation will host public information
open house events on October 2 and 3 to provide concerned citizens an
opportunity to weigh in on the planned expansion of US-54 to a four-lane divided
highway through a portion of Seward County. The Kansas DOT has funding for
construction of approximately 9.5 miles of four-lane highway, plus design work
to the Seward/Meade county line.
Representatives of KDOT and the engineering consultant team will be
on hand to answer questions and discuss issues related to this highway
improvement. There will be no formal presentations, but visitors will be able to
share comments and concerns with the design team. Each open house will run from
5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and you can come and go any time. The two events will be held
at the following locations:
Liberal Tuesday, October 2 Rock Island Depot, 4 Rock
Island Road, Liberal
Kismet Wednesday, October 3 Southwestern Heights High
School, US-54
