Car Accident Leaves Guymon Man in Critical Condition

A 1-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy were treated and released and the driver of the vehicle they were riding in is in critical condition in Amarillo after a 1-vehicle wreck Wednesday just west of Guymon on a county road.

Aaron Ross May, 29, of Guymon was driving a 2000 Pontiac 2-tenths of a mile west of Guymon at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday when the vehicle he was driving left the roadway westbound on a county road, struck a fence, crossed the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

The driver was taken to Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon before being airlifted to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo with neck injuries. He was listed in critical condition Friday.

The children were taken to the Guymon hospital where they were treated and released.

According to a report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the driver�??s ability was impaired due to alcohol. The report also said seat belts were not in use.
