Saints Fall to Cowley in Region VI Winner Take All Title Game

The Seward County Saints baseball season came to a close on Wednesday night in Wichita. Cowley County beat Seward for the second straight night to claim their fifth Region VI Championship. Cowley won the game 6-3. The Saints started ace Bobby Doran who had a 1-0 lead to begin the game. Cowley eventually tied up the score at one apiece which is where it stayed until the fouth inning when the Tigers broke the game open scroing six runs in the inning. The Saints had a shot in the ninth trailing 6-3 with men on first and second with one out. However, Seward hit into a double play that ended the 2009 Saints season. Seward County finishes 37-22 on the season.
