Child Struck By Car Sunday At Dillons In Critical Condition

On Sunday, April 22nd, 2012 at about 3:13 p.m., Liberal Police Officers responded to 1417 N. Kansas to a report of an injury accident involving a vehicle and a child. The child, a three year old male, had already been transported to Southwest Medical Center by private vehicle.

Investigating officers learned that a 38 year old female was driving her 2010 Chevy Traverse through the parking lot traffic way when the child ran into the driving area. The driver did not see the child and struck him.

The child was later flown by air ambulance to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS with critical injuries.

The investigation of this incident is ongoing.
