K-State Extension Agent For Seward County Steps Down – Reception Held

Mike Hanson, Seward County Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent with the K-State Research and Extension office, will be honored with a Farewell Reception on Friday, February 24, 2012.

Hanson, who has worked with the K-State Research and Extension office for eight years, has recently accepted the position as operation manager with the Elkhart Co-Op, managing the company�??s grain elevators in Rolla, Richfield, Dermot and Feterita.

A master gardener, Hanson has made many horticulture calls within the county helping solve lawn problems, as well as working with the county 4-H program and the Five State Fair. He has worked closely with the agriculture community in the area and conducted many informative meetings for Seward County residents. He also helped with developing the Seward County Emergency Preparedness plan.

Area residents are invited to stop by and say their farewells between 4 and 6 PM at the office located across from the Activities Building on the North end of the fairgrounds.
