Dodge City Residents Can Use Fireworks To Ring In 2012

KSCB News - December 29, 2011 8:04 am

Dodge City residents who held onto the
fireworks they weren’t allowed to use on the Fourth of July will
get a chance to make some noise on New Year’s Eve.
The City Commission voted at a special meeting
Wednesday to let residents shoot off fireworks from noon on Dec. 31
to 12:30 a.m. on January 1st.
Dodge City was one of numerous Kansas communities that banned
fireworks during the summer, including the Fourth of July, amid a
long spell of hot, dry weather.
City officials note that all public property, including school
playgrounds and public parking areas, is off-limits for shooting
fireworks this weekend.
