On December 13, 2011, at about 11:18 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of South Calhoun for a report of an injured child. Responding officers contacted a 28 year old male resident.
The investigating officers saw an 8 month old boy with an apparent head injury. Seward County Emergency Medical Services transported to the child to Southwest Medical Center in serious condition. The child was later flown to Wichita for further care.
On December 14, the 28 year old male was arrested for Abuse of a Child. He is currently being held in the Seward County Jail with a $50,000 bond.
The child is currently at Wesley Medical Center in serious, but stable condition.
