It’s been one of the more talked about buildings in Greensburg. An incubator giving small businesses a place to set up shop while their more permanent location is under construction.
The building was officially dedicated Friday by city leaders. Three businesses have already moved in, two that are brand new to Greensburg.
Greensburg city officials say getting businesses back up and running has to be one of the top priorities in the rebuilding process.
City Manager Steve Hewitt says, “We have to build our business district back. We have to have sales tax dollars and people shopping and spending money. We have to have commerce again in our community. So, it’s very very important that the backbone of our community is business.”
And like pretty much every new building in Greensburg the incubator is very green, equipped with everything from solar panels to geo-thermal heating to a system that collects rain water and uses it for the toilets.
