Liberal’s Austin Pitts and Tyson Deaton helped themselves Monday at Hugoton. Both pitched their teams to wins and helped themselves out at the plate. In game one, Pitts pitched a one hit shutout and hit a grand slam in Liberal’s 13-0 victory. The Redskins scored six in the first, one in the fourth, and six in the seventh in the win. Pitts tossed a perfect game until the Hugoton nine hole hitter got a hit in the sixth. In game two, Deaton pitched six strong innings striking out 10 and allowing one hit. Deaton also went 4-4 at the plate. The Skins scored two in the first, two in the second, and two in the fifth. The Redskins are 6-3 and play at Goodland Thursday at 4 pm mountain time. The Eagles fall to 2-4.
