Liberal Teen Named 2011 National American Miss Kansas Teen Community Service Award Winner

Amanda Collins, 17, represented Liberal at the National American Miss Kansas Pageant in Wichita this past weekend. Amanda walked away with a trophy as a state finalist as well as a first place trophy and named 2011 National American Miss Kansas Teen Community Service First Place winner. Community Service is an optional competition at National American Miss. Amanda’s community service resume includes her service to the Liberal Bee Jays, scorekeeping and coaching Kids Inc. basketball, Soroptimist Fair Queen competition and hours as the Five State Fair Queen, Vacation Bible School teacher and many others.

Amanda is the daughter of Bill and Cheryl Collins. Amanda will be a senior at Liberal High School where she plays volleyball and basketball, is active in Standout, Key Club, National Honor Society and was voted Senior Class President.

Amanda was sponsored by Keating Tractor and Equipment, Bob Carlile, and Soroptimist Club of Liberal.
