Road Work To Start in Haskell and Seward County

KSCB News - July 3, 2011 3:09 pm

The Kansas Department of Transportation expects a resurfacing project on K-190 to begin by Thursday, July 7. The project runs from the junction of K-190 and US-56 on the east side of Satanta in Haskell County, south and east to the junction of K-190 and US-83 in Seward County. The resurfacing operation includes recycling the top 1-½ inches of pavement followed by overlaying the roadway with two inches of fresh asphalt.

During working hours, drivers can expect traffic to be reduced to one lane through the work zone, guided by a pilot car. The Kansas DOT reminds drivers to pay attention to all work zone signs, slow down and be prepared to stop. Delays should be less than 15 minutes.

The primary contractor on this approximately $1.9 million T-WORKS preservation project is J & R Sand Co., Inc., of Liberal, Kansas. KDOT expects the work to be completed by the end of August, depending on weather.
