Dodge City Casino Employees Investigated

KSCB News - June 11, 2011 7:57 am

Kansas regulators are investigating employees of a state-owned casino in Dodge City over allegations that they were involved in illegal off-site poker games.

The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission confirmed its investigation Friday. The allegations involve employees at the Boot Hill Casino and Resort, which opened in December 2009.

Spokesman Bill Miskell said a disciplinary panel expects to issue about two dozen notices to people who hold gambling licenses that they face having them suspended or revoked.

Casino General Manager Sharon Stroburg said allegations about employees were brought to its attention and corrective actions have been taken. She said several people have resigned.

Miskell said most of the employees being investigated worked at the casino’s table games.
