Liberal Man Sentenced In Homicide

A Liberal man was sentenced to nearly 13
years in prison for the death of another man whose body was found
in a ditch.
Alfredo Brunete was sentenced Monday after pleading no contest
last month to second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Juan
Edgar Hernandez-Jil.
Hernandez-Jil’s body was found Nov. 29 in a ditch in Logan
County, about 26 miles south of Oakley. Authorities have not said
how Hernandez-Jil died.
The victim was from the
Commerce City, Colo., area. The KBI says he was believed to be a
native of Puebla, Mexico.
