Calling All Saints

KSCB News - April 10, 2009 12:00 am

The economic crisis hasn’t left Seward County unscathed. Seward depends on interest from money markets for academic and athletic scholarships at the school. Seward uses about 500 thousand dollars worth of scholarship money each year. But without that interest money, the school is looking for other ways to fund scholarships. Seward County’s athletic office is kicking off a campaign to send letters to every former Saints athlete to inform them of how things are going at their former school, try to find out more about what that former athlete is doing with his/her life, and ask if they can help financially. SCCC athletic director Galen McSpadden says it’s also an alternative to asking many of the same local donors for more financial assistance.
