State Pleased With Dodge City Casino’s Showing

KSCB News - December 27, 2010 11:19 am

Keith Kocher, gaming facilities director for the lottery, says the Boot Hill Casino and Resort in Dodge City generated $36.5 million in revenue since it opened on Dec. 15 of last year. Revenue consultants had predicted the casino would make about $40 million annually.

The casino’s second phase, scheduled to be completed next December, will double the gaming floor, add a hotel, a day spa, two more restaurants and lounges.

Dodge City Mayor Kent Smoll stated that about 60% of the casino’s customers are from neighboring states and other counties in Kansas
