Police have determined a Garden City Community College student found dead in his dorm room took his own life.

The 19-year-old’s body was discovered Saturday morning by another student. He was a sophomore from Englewood, Colorado, and a member of the GCCC football team.

College counselors, Student Services Division members and others are continuing to make themselves available and provide support to any students affected by the death. College representatives were also planning to speak briefly to classmates in all of the student’s classes this week, beginning today.
