Meade Moves On

KSCB News - November 20, 2010 12:00 am

For the first time since 1980, the Meade Buffaloes are in a state championship football game. Meade went to Johnson and beat Stanton County 44-26 Friday night. This was a much closer game than Meade’s October 1st 46-6 win. It was 14-12 Meade just before halftime before Kellen Hernandez found Trevin Wiens for a 24 yard touchdown pass just before halftime to make it 22-14. The Trojans marched back to make it 22-18 early in the third quarter but couldn’t slow down the Buffalo rushing attack. Kellen Hernandez rushed for 149 yards while Jaden Friesen had 105 rushing yards and Trevin Wiens added 79 rushing yards. Meade plays Pittsburg Colgan Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lewis Field in Hays. Colgan beat Olpe 35-24 last night.
