It will take a little less time and money to
graduate from universities in Kansas.
The Kansas Board of Regents on Thursday approved decreasing the
minimum number of credit hours required for a bachelor’s degree
from 124 to 120.
The change takes effect immediately.
The regents staff noted that 39 states, including all those
bordering Kansas, have a 120-hour minimum.
A staff memo supporting the reduction says that many students
change universities during their college studies, making it
important to have consistent degree requirements.
