Two of the top cross country programs in the area met at the Hugoton Invitational Saturday. Hugoton, ranked sixth in 4A won the meet with 27 points followed by the third ranked team in 2A in Oklahoma, Hooker who scored (93) followed by Stanton County (96), Holcomb (106), Scott City (132), Guymon (166), Meade (168), Beaver (197), Southwestern Heights (212), South Baca (242), and South Gray (283). Hugoton’s Heber Jimenez won the meet (17:26). Hugoton’s Patrick Weaver was 2nd (17:32). Hooker’s David Perez placed third (17:34). Seph Iman of Elkhart was fourth (17:47). Cole Gardiner of Meade was fifth (18:03). Chase Hittle of Hugoton placed seventh (18:15) ahead of Hugoton’s Jacob Martin who placed eighth (18:18). Guymon’s Josh Pierce was ninth (18:18).

Boise City won the girls meet with 52 points ahead of Holcomb (88), Meade (95), Scott City (116), Stratford (119), Stanton County (131), Hugoton (139), Hooker (156), and Minneola (195). Aubrey Hamlin of Hugoton won the meet (17:02). Ashley Goode of Hugoton was second (17:39). Hooker’s Brittany Bergner was fourth (17:47). Michaela Golliher of Meade was eighth (18:01).
