Kansas State Fair Draws Big Numbers

Organizers say this year’s Kansas State Fair has the makings of a hit.

Mostly sunny and sometimes cool weather throughout the 10-day event in Hutchinson apparently played a big role in bringing out crowds.

Fair manager Denny Stoecklein says though official numbers on admission and vendor sales won’t be in for a few weeks, initial indicators are looking good.

It’s unclear whether the numbers will approach those seen in 2009, which were the highest in 10 years.

Officials say Sunday’s Selena Gomez concert looked to be the most successful concert this year, with more than 8,400 tickets sold.
