A Kansas woman was flown by air ambulance to a Wichita hospital after her pickup was hit from behind by a semi truck.
Sandy Styles, 37, of Bucklin, was traveling westbound in a 2006 Nissan pickup on U.S. Highway 54 when she hit a deer. Styles’ pickup was then struck from behind by a 2009 Freightliner semi, also traveling westbound, and driven by 42-year-old Daniel E. Williams of Wichita.
Styles is in serious but stable condition at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in Wichita. Williams was not hurt. A passenger in Styles’ car, Timothy Styles, 36, of Bucklin, was treated at a local hospital.
The accident happened just west of the city of Cairo before 10 p.m. Saturday.
