Hwy. 136 was closed Saturday, September 4, for more than eight and a half hours after a tanker truck overturned, leaking anhydrous ammonia according to a report released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The report states, the tanker overturned 3.5 miles north of Guymon on Hwy. 136 at 10:20 a.m., pinning the driver in the in the vehicle.

The Guymon Fire Department and Emergency Management were the first on scene according to reports. The Department of Environmental Quality was advised of the accident and arrived sometime later, as well as Size and Weights Trooper Boyd Perry, Trooper Grant Arnold and Trooper Commander Captain Darrel Jordan.

Hwy. 136 was reopened at 6:17 p.m. after conditions were safe for motorists.

The driver was taken to Memorial Hospital of Texas County, treated and released according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Dispatch.
