A three vehicle injury accident occurred Thursday morning at approximately 11:27am just south of US-83/ US-64 Jct. on US-83 four and seven tenths of a mile north of Turpin, Oklahoma in Beaver County.
A 2003 Dodge pickup truck driven by Rodrigo Romero Ornela, age 40 of Levelland, Texas was southbound on US-83, while a 1999 Chrysler van driven by Tammie Darlene Lowe, 56 of Abingdon, Virginia and a 2016 Peterbilt with trailer driven by Robert Alexander Dea II, 30, of Cheyenne, Wyoming were both northbound on US-83. The Dodge pickup crossed the center line and struck the Peterbilt (who was in front of Chrysler van) striking it several times, going into a roll and rolling one and one half times and continuing to roll southbound in the northbound lane, striking the vehicle head on. The Pickup came to rest on top of Van in the East ditch of US-83. Both the Pickup and the Van came to rest facing northeast. The Semi came to a controlled stop north of the collision.
Ornela was transported by Beaver County EMS to Southwest Medical Hospital in Liberal, Kansas
and later transported to Northwest Medical Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. He was admitted with leg and arm injuries. He is listed in stable condition.
Lowe was transported by Beaver County EMS to Southwest Medical Hospital in Liberal,
Kansas. She was admitted for leg and arm injuries, and is listed in stable condition.
Dea II was not injured.
