Last night the Warriors 7th grade football team Started on a high note with an 18-0 victory against Dodge City Middle School. The warriors and the cardinals both showed some immaturity in the first half as it was a defensive struggle and the halftime score was 0-0. However in the second half the Warriors offense found its stride behind the churning legs of Josiah Vargas the Warriors took an 6-0 after a 72 yard scamper. Blayden Betts barreled into the end zone and completed the two point conversion. The defense then came up huge and after an Easton Cooley sack on 3rd and 15 the warriors forced a safety bringing the score to 10-0. After another warriors defensive stand lead by Cooley and Angel Perevino the warriors took possession of the ball at the beginning of the 4th Quarter and methodically drove down the field and scored behind the running of Betts and Cooley capped off by a 4 yard TD run by Vargas. After two false start penalties Betts connected with Austin Dodge for the 2 point conversion pushing the score to 18-0. The warriors then retook possession and after a 21 yard run by Vargas the Warriors went into Victory Formation and finished off the Cardinals 18-0.

Next week will be the home opener for Warriors at Warriors Field against the KH Falcons.

The 8th grade moved the ball at will against Camanche and put up 14 points. Even more impressive was the shutout they were able to maintain. In the end the physicality of the Apaches was too much for Comanche. Final Apaches 14-0 over Comanche.
