Seward County Community College is proud to be part of the annual Fourth of July celebration with the Liberal Bee Jays Thursday.
The community is invited to join in a July 4 extravaganza at Brent Gould Field featuring plenty of old-fashioned fun for the family and baseball with the Bee Jays.
Community groups will host a hot dog feed, bouncy houses, and more for families starting at 2 p.m. in the area immediately adjacent to the field on the SCCC main campus.
The Bee Jays will take on the Denver Cougars at 7 p.m., with a fireworks display to follow after the game.
“This annual event provides connection to our community,” said college president, Dr. Ken Trzaska, “and we are always proud to host the Independence Day celebration, which represents the best of life in this part of the country.”
Parking will be permitted in all normal parking lots on campus, except the dorm/softball field parking lot that is reserved for the Student Living Center residents.
Guests should also note that SCCC does not allow use of personal fireworks on campus, including the Hale Court dorm area and the Industrial Technology Campus.
When the official fireworks display is over, campus security requests that drivers exit the respective parking lot in a right-turn only fashion, to expedite traffic flow.
