On Thursday, November 10, 2011, at about 8:30 a.m., a 30 year old woman reported a 12 year old male had been assaulted days earlier.
The boy reported that he was walking home from Burger King on November 8 th when he was approached by an adult male in his twenties or thirties who was riding a bicycle. The male reportedly grabbed the boy by the arm and took a bag of food items the boy had purchased. The boy escaped the man’s grip and went to the house of a friend. The man left, taking the items he had previously removed from the boy.
On Thursday, November 10 th at about 12:00 p.m., officers arrested a 26 year old male at the 1000 block of North Washington Avenue. He was subsequently taken to the police department for an interview. The man was arrested for robbery, theft, criminal restraint and battery. He is being held at the Seward County Jail pending formal charges.
